ArangoDB

One database. One Query Language. Three data models. Endless Possibilities. With more than one million downloads, ArangoDB is a fast growing native multi-model NoSQL database. It combines the power of graphs, with JSON documents and a key-value store. ArangoDB makes all of your data-models accessible with a single elegant declarative query language. ArangoDB is the simple, versatile and performant answer to many challenges facing developers, startups and enterprises in the near and far future. Simplifying complexity and increasing productivity is the mission of ArangoDB, the company behind the project.

Our jobs

  • DevOps Engineer Continuous Delivery

We like to see data as a living thing. It grows, it changes and even builds relationships. We can ask questions and get answers. Data shows us different aspect and new ways to do things. To get better answers tomorrow, we have to ask more complex questions today and connect different shapes of data efficiently. We believe in native multi-model – store diverse data in one core and access it with one query language.

ArangoDB is a highly complex system and has to run smoothly on a variety of operating and orchestration systems. Help the development team to build and test more easily and find better ways to run our multi-model database on premise, in the cloud or on modern orchestration systems like Kubernetes.

    We offer

    ● Explore new ground of data storage & access

    ● Team-up with experienced minds to learn and share knowledge

    ● Join a well-funded company with offices in San Francisco, Cologne and Moscow

backed by Target Partners and several Fortune 100 customers

    ● Experiment together with thoughtful founders with over 30 years of combined

    experience in DB development

    ● Enjoy flexible working hours (work from home also possible)

    ● Travel to conferences & meetups around the globe (Optional)

    You will be working on

    ● Extending ArangoDB graph capabilities further, designing new distributed algorithms or parallelizing existing

    ● Optimizing performance and inventing new ways to analyze graphs

    ● Create new ways to handle large graphs and visualize them

    ● Expanding the network interfaces is also part of your key tasks

    ● (Optional) Presenting on international conferences and user groups

    ● (Optional) Supporting our open source community with your expertise

    You should have

    ● At least 3 years of intensive development experience with C/C++ (we are using C++ 11)

    ● Solid algorithmic background (regardless of language)

    ● Very good in-depth knowledge of computational complexity theory

    ● Experience with parallel processing and optimization for modern multiprocessor servers

The over 40 minds of ArangoDB come from 4 different continents and over a dozen countries. Different backgrounds enable us to see new solutions. We love this diversity and encourage everyone who is curious and ambitious to join the multi-model movement

Graph data is special when it comes to storage and access. What new query functions do users need? How can we ensure performance when graph data is distributed. How to best deal with supernodes? Help us to answer these questions and explore new solutions together with a senior team.
